Chief Executive Officer

Patrick joined SHRF in October 2007 and is responsible for the overall direction, development and management of programs and initiatives across the organization, leading the management team, and working collaboratively with the SHRF staff, Board of Directors, stakeholders, funders and external partners to advance SHRF’s best interests.

Corporate and Operations Administrator

Catherine joined SHRF in May 2017 and is responsible for overall administrative and IT support for SHRF, the CEO, the Board as well as related external relations support.

Director of Impact and Strategy

Rostyk joined SHRF in May 2018. Some of his priorities focus on the continual growth of SHRF’s ability to measure and showcase the impact that research funding has on the various stakeholders, including the economic growth of the province.  Rostyk provides market and strategic intelligence to the organization; enabling SHRF, our partners, stakeholders and collaborators to continue growing and developing a prosperous and innovative health research ecosystem in Saskatchewan.

Director of Programs and Partnerships

Karen began her role as with SHRF in November 2010 and is responsible for managing funding competitions, developing and implementing funding programs and policies, and contributing to strategic planning. 

Programs and Peer Review Manager

Danielle joined SHRF in October 2015 and works with all aspects of the organization’s funding programs, including follow-up reporting, managing funding competitions as assigned, and contributing to program and policy development and evaluation.

Programs and Engagement Manager 

Chelsea joined SHRF in January 2021 to fulfill the ongoing tasks of the organization’s funding programs, including follow-up reporting and managing funding competitions as assigned. As of April 2022, Chelsea will be taking on the grants management duties and communications related to research funding.

Programs and Peer Review Coordinator

Tanya joined SHRF in 2011 and provides assistance and support to all aspects of the SHRF funding process for annual grants and major initiatives.

Director of Finance and Corporate Services

Lina joined SHRF in January 2016 and is responsible for enhancing financial management, reporting and accountability of the organization, developing and managing contracts with partners and service providers, ensuring good human resource management practices, overseeing a secure and effective IT system that includes a grants-management system, and contributing to strategic planning.


Daniel joined SHRF in October 2020 and is responsible for carrying out general and grants accounting, as well as payroll and benefits administration, and all related reporting requirements.
