Santé Awards 2025-26

SHRF's annual Santé Awards celebrate health research excellence in Saskatchewan.

This is an opportunity to: 

• Recognize the many individuals within Saskatchewan's vibrant research and innovation ecosystem for their contributions to health research

• Build and strengthen connections with the research community, our partners and other provincial supporters​

Event Details This year's awards will be held in person on Thursday, January 29th, 2026, at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Saskatoon East, specifically in the top-floor A & B Ballroom.

• 4:30 P.M. Awards program
  

Parking The parking gates will be lifted 15 minutes before the event and 30 minutes after the event starts. If the parking lot is full, there are two different parking places around the Holiday Inn Express where guests can park for a small fee.

2025-26 Awards

Achievement Award: This award is presented to one researcher whose exemplary career achievements in Saskatchewan have inspired us with their drive, leadership and ingenuity. It recognizes the recipient's work over their career to build capacity, advance knowledge, inform decision-making, and provide health, economic, and social impacts in Saskatchewan.

Impact Award: This award is presented to a researcher who received a SHRF Establishment Grant five years ago, has submitted their 5-year follow-up report, and is currently active in Saskatchewan. The award recognizes their work, which helps build capacity, advance knowledge, inform decision-making and provides health, economic and social impacts, and shows future potential to continue their impact in Saskatchewan.

Excellence Awards: These awards recognize the top-ranked applications from researchers and teams in the past year’s funding competitions. All applications to SHRF’s funding competitions are ranked according to our rigorous peer review process by committees of active researchers and health professionals.

Recognizing SHRF Connections Awards: These awards shine a spotlight on individuals who have contributed significantly to Saskatchewan's vibrant research community by volunteering their time and sharing their invaluable experiences and expertise, even though research is not part of their official role.
