This one-day event focuses on allowing graduate students from a variety of colleges to submit abstracts and display posters of their research which will then be judged by a panel of faculty members. This allows the faculty to interact with the students and learn of the various research projects being conducted on campus.
The event will feature a keynote speaker, Dr. John Geisy, who is the Canada Research Chair in Environmental Technology at the University of Saskatchewan. He will discuss the uses, environmental fate and toxicity of perfluorinated chemicals and how his laboratory analyzed them to disclose their toxicity. Following his presentation and lunch, Dr. Geisy will lead a graduate student seminar where he will take questions from students and provide suggestions for the students as they move forward in their careers as researchers
