The ISKEWEWAK MIWAYAWAY Community Workshop and Travelling Photovoice Exhibit in intended to share knowledge and understanding about the visual, gendered, historical and cultural meanings of healthy body weight and image for First Nations women and youth. This workshop focuses specifically on women’s wellness in connection with obesity and body image.

As obesity and its associated health risks have been identified as areas of concern for Aboriginal women, sharing research on the range of meanings that First Nations women give to the concept of a healthy body is an important step in changing harmful attitudes and practices.
