Through its presentations, panels, discussion, and group work, this institute focuses on providing essential tools and resources for delegates to mobilize their communities and organizations to incorporate increased physical activity for health benefits.
Four key themes in building community health promotion include: building partnerships and political will; social marketing and effective messaging, community target population strategies; and measuring success through research and evaluation.
The event provides a forum for researchers from the various “in motion” communities across the country to explore ideas for collaboration and new initiatives. The goal is to create an in motion National Research Advisory Committee based at the University of Saskatchewan. About 150 delegates from across Canada are expected, representing research, community front line staff, health promotion professionals, government, media, and students.

This event is sponsored in part by a SHRF Research Connections grant.
