“Aboriginal Experience in Aging Symposium: Setting Research and Policy Priorities”
September 17-19, 2008
This symposium brings together First Nation and Métis Leaders; leading researchers from across Canada; and policy-makers to review what is currently known about the aging experiences of Aboriginal Peoples, and to identify research and policy gaps for future study and development.
Community leaders and researchers will identify priorities and decide how the research would benefit the people, examining areas such as health, social, and economic issues, as well as international perspectives.
The frank, open, and informative discussions will identify concrete initiatives that can Aboriginal people can take back to benefit their own communities.
