As health promotion continues to be an area of interest to health care providers, educators, researchers, and policy makers it is important to identify ongoing challenges and opportunities. The purpose of this conference is to bring together a number of health care users to discuss current issues that surround local and global influences on health outcomes. More particularly, conference participants will explore population health approaches to disparities within the health care system especially as they relate to our First Nations. Conference organizers intend to use the conference to encourage health researchers to incorporate evaluation into health promotion practice and allow greater networking opportunities for academic researchers and health care providers.
