About Program

The Research Group Facilitation Group Program was intended to: encourage and facilitate the formation and development of new groups that consisted of active researchers with common interests who were studying matters associated with the human health sciences, the health-related social sciences or other human health-related fields of study and who were interested in establishing a longer-term association with each other that would benefit their research productivity and competitiveness; advance strategic directions for health research within the home institution or the province; assist in increasing national funding for research in the field of interest in Saskatchewan, especially from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research or another of the Tri-Council agencies; and enhance the capacity for and quality of research in the field of interest and health research generally in Saskatchewan.

The amount of knowledge in reproductive biology has grown more in the last 20 years than in all previous millennia. The advent of this knowledge has medical, ethical, social and legal implications that scientists, and the public, cannot ignore. A very strong, comprehensive program in Reproductive Science and Medicine has been developed at the University of Saskatchewan using the natural advantages of having both human and veterinary medical colleges. The Reproductive Science and Medicine Group will focus on key areas of women’s health like conception, contraception and menopause.
