Use of mental health services is at an all-time high, but how much do we know about how different therapists understand and practice psychotherapy with patients? Dr. Baydala will address the need for a better socio-cultural understanding of psychotherapy by interviewing psychotherapists and collecting narratives, which will paint a picture of what it’s like to be a psychotherapist in different settings. This will increase understanding among psycho-therapists, policy makers, and educators of psychotherapy. This research is in line with Saskatchewan’s trend toward increasing the profession’s accountability.
