Children worldwide suffer from devastating diarrhoeal diseases such as rotavirus and Escherichia coli infections. Especially in developing countries both infections are the most common cause of diarrhea and death in young children and infants. Drs. Salles and Gerdts are hoping to do research that will contribute to improved oral vaccines for these and other diseases.
