The number of Canadians with Alzheimer Disease or related dementia is growing dramatically, including those in rural and remote areas. With numerous partners, including three CIHR Institutes, the University of Saskatchewan, SHRF, and the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan, Dr. Morgan and her team aim to address this emerging problem. They will develop strategies to improve care of people with dementia who are living in rural and northern areas of the province. The projects are aimed at improving the availability, accessibility and acceptability of programs for assessment and management of dementia, support of caregivers, and training for formal caregivers. This research will be conducted in partnership with rural and remote Saskatchewan health care providers.
